New camera ... New shots. Don't know if you can tell but I have upgraded to an awesome DSLR. It's become my new baby and will be put to good use for future blog posts (both personal style and runway/event pics).
A question has been bothering me. How to pull off metallic silver without looking like a crazed astronaut or Pharrell in the Blurred Lines video.
I found my opportunity to experiment in this particular bomber with LONG metallic sleeves.
First mistake. Online shopping can be very deceiving; from the jacket's picture, it was heaven sent metallic gold! However once I tried it on in front of a mirror, indeed Pharrell was staring back at me.
Problem? The silver was too overpowering since it extended from the shoulders all the way down to the wrist.
Resolution? I grabbed a pair of scissors and hacked the sleeves just above my elbows. Long sleeves (magically) turned short and this way, the strong reflective silver could be balanced with your skin tone. Less in your face metallic and more chic accent.
There's nothing a little DIY can't fix.
