Top: Casper&Pearl ... Shorts: NastyGal ... Shoes: Windsor Smith

Vladimir Nabokov probably didn't have an outfit in mind for the young Dolores Hayes when he wrote Lolita in 1955. But after reading the novel and watching the 1997 movie adaptation, this is the style that I associate with the playful and dangerously flirtatious Lolita.

It seems to me that Aussie brand Casper&Pearl's summer collection is heavily influenced by the young character's girlie but deadly charm. An array of original pieces that captures Lolita's 'nymphet' qualities. She's innocent at first glance but a habit of provocation lurks underneath. Such is the style of Lolita interpreted by C&P - pastel floral prints and schoolgirl-like collars vs unexpected cut-outs and genius cropping.

My apologies for my long absence. Sometimes holidays get in the way but at least I got to shoot in one of the most awesome places in the world, Hawaii.

Happy holidays!

  2. YES, this is how I imagined Dolores when I read Lolita...innocent and girly on the surface but provocative and dangerous underneath. Love x

  3. So jealous! I've always wanted to experience summer and beaches in Hawaii. I should really be grateful for Sydney's amazing beaches, I just take them for granted. I remember reading Lolita and watching the adaptation and being greatly disturbed by the personality of Dolores. So scandulous as a story. And gorgeous outfit, really highlights your amazing legs.
