While they're youthful, effortless and sun appropriate, I risk looking like a festival hopping teenager stuck in the mindset that 'less is more'. Or to put it bluntly ... a twelvie.
As such a more urban-cross-streetstyle aesthetic was adopted here in the efforts of smartening up the generic bustier. I've noticed many young Sydneysiders like to wear crop tops with Vans or Converse. But switching the sneakers for some chunky platform sandals instantly elevates the outfit. The ones I own just happen to have epic laces, cut outs and a mock croc texture. Now that's what I call real shoes.
Chuck in a fedora because it's a tried and tested method to add more sophistication. And finally any skirt that's white and pleated has a tick in my book; it screams 'I belong on the tennis court even though I can't serve for s***'. BOOM, the result is a little more masculine, a little more sporty and a lot less juvenile.

You are right, the chunky shoes gives dimension to the outfit and kind of contrast with the smallness of the crop top. Very cute
