Floral prints burst on every street corner come the warmer seasons but not quite like this. Instead of the innocent and romantic 'walking on a dream' vibe usually associated with flowers, I get a peculiar sense of eeriness from this Cameo editorial.
It's as if I've stumbled across a forlorn museum on a cloudy day only to discover a room filled with frozen girls, each with a floral bouquet exploding from her body. Her alabaster skin made of porcelain.
All strange vibes aside, I find this editorial quite patriotic. Nobody is waving an Australian flag, such is the subtlety that Cameo is so good at. But if you look closely, the florals featured are all native Australian shrubs. After some researching and digging at my own knowledge, I spotted the kangaroo paw (picture 4), banksia (picture 3), protea (picture 5) and native wisteria. A truly unique collection of garments that I would be proud to wear.

Wonderful editorial!

I'm in love with these photos!
ReplyDeleteAnd I must say it's quiet genius not going with the "romantic" florals as you said, but a more serious and sophisticated style.
Lovely post :)
