OUTFIT POST: Poppy (MBFWA)

When it's Fashion Week, you know you have to up the ante. Do something unexpected, be a little more daring but also being careful not to cross the line.

With that in mind, this is what I'll be wearing to Day 1 of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia. Since the first show is at night, I gravitated towards a darker palette of poppy reds and denim/midnight blues. With the filigree details, faux fur gilet and the dusky poppy print, this outfit has more of a vintage vibe than I planned. Although, you can never go wrong with a simple denim shirt in contemporising (is that a word?) any look. Better yet, take a step further ... just roll up the cuffs. 

The piece I really want to focus on today is the clutch by Me-dusa (HERE). Launched in 2009 and based in Tel Aviv, Israel, their creations definitely reach their goal of creating something 'new and different from what can usually be found in the market'. The thing I find most interested is they work with such a common material ... plastic, but it's designed into something so unique and modern.
