Checkmate

There are two things at the top of my bucket list: shoot in a maze and (learn how to) play giant chess - none of which will be fulfilled anytime soon. So I will live vicariously through Finders Keepers's latest lookbook, Checkmate. Their vision of spring dressing consist of a modern twist on the floral and houndstooth print. The former being stripped off its cutesy stereotype and designed with an edgy ombre into stark white where the latter is updated with a pop of colour.
Yes, you're free to wear houndstooth stylishly come the warmer weather. It's no longer just reserved for the David Jones logo.

Topshop x Kate Moss
Supermodel doesn't cut it. Influential. Controversial. Style icon.
Kate Moss' cool-ness is something us mortals can't possess or copy.
But this April 30, her comeback collection with Topshop will drop into stores and hopefully we can all buy a piece of that Kate Moss cool. I missed out on her first collab in 2009, so this is going in my diary!
The garments are beautifully boho; some leather tassles here and intricate aztec embroidery there. In this 45 piece collection, there are four elements of Kate's style you can tap into. Otherwise known as the four themes; noir, balearic, cocktail and pajama. Day time dressing is free flowing as I spied some maxi dresses, wide legged trousers and wisps of silky draped hems. Come nightfall and the feathers, jewels and beaded fringed frocks and overcoats come out to play.
Now we have the opportunity to bask in the glory of owning something designed by the iconic Kate Moss.

Who's Hungry?

Who doesn't want edible foodstuffs printed on ones clothing? Nasty Gal x Lazy Oaf came up with probably the most evil way to make others hungry ... or perhaps it's pure genius.

Don't Stress ... Bench Press

April Nasty Gal lookbook is the epitome of 'sports luxe'. With mesh tops, wedge sneakers and lycra bodysuits, this is perfect for high energy summer styling. Add in some crazy strappy sandals combined with perspex and you've nailed the 'luxe' aspect.
However if you are down south like me (and entering a bitter phase of blankets and beanies), these neutral separates are so easily paired with oversized outerwear. Cue the comeback of boyfriend jeans and bomber jackets.

Secret Garden A/W 2013

How many people can say they started a label at 18 years? Most girls at that age are probably on their gap year, applying for uni or working at Maccas.
I want to introduce an emerging Australian label to you called Casper and Pearl. It was created by 'an eighteen year old self-taught designer with nothing but big dreams'. Yes, you read correctly ... she's so young, self-taught and very successful. Her label has already exploded; being on big publications such as Teenvogue.com and also seen on many popular fashion bloggers.
Personally, it's Casper & Pearl's vintage and innocent aesthetic that caught my eye. Knowing my love for the feminine and romantic, I can safely say that her design vision is quite on par with my style. The newest collection 'Secret Garden' showcases such a whimsical perspective of winter; florals here, floral there, it's as if every picture came straight out of a hazy daydream.
