The photos are out. Albeit a month late, but better late than never!

A month ago, Her Fashion Box contacted me to feature in their March magazine issue to coincide with their 1st birthday. Since I never have been in a full magazine spread before, I entered this collab with excitement and curiosity. My job - to style a scarf, necklace and ring included in their March box. Then go to HFB headquarters for a good old photoshoot. 

Founded by Kath Purkis, HFB aims to bring women the latest fashion accessories and advice as well as beauty and lifestyle products inside a box that's delivered to you monthly. Hand-picked to your style (are you trendy, feminine or classic?), you pay $39.95 a month in return for an awesome box of goodies. 

The entire collab process was so relaxed and turned out to be an unexpected adventure. The team and I were on a hunt for the perfect background; we wandered the streets of Alexandria and trespassed on neighbouring warehouses where we talked in only whispers to avoid being kicked out. Highlight of the day was finding some rat poison that our photographer bravely kicked away.

River Island Launch

There's something for the androgynous, gypsea, outrageous or elegant side to all of us. Appealing to so many different facets of personal style is what I love most about River Island. The UK store has just launched an Australian website (HERE) with collections that are in sync with our seasons (read: no more online shopping that sells bikini when it's freezing cold here in July).

I'm very glad to be a part of their Australian Launch taken place at a gorgeous spot in Rose Bay where the views are nearly as good as the clothes on show. The set up was superb where each trend was categorised into different racks. You've got the vintage vibes at the back, the flower bombs at the front and  the street style grunge somewhere in between. My favourite rack? It was all white and dripping with different textures ... embellishments, sporty mesh and lace.

However there's something to get even more exited about. River Island has collaborated with RiRi for an exclusive collection ... Rihanna for River Island (check it out HERE). I was told she was very hands on with this collection where she made most of the creative decisions. Don't know about you, but I would love to have something that was created from her talented brain.

The Rumour Mill

Today, I had the great privilege of being invited to The Rumour Mill's showroom. The Rumour Mill is a PR agency based in Sydney who represents brands such as MINKPINK, Market HQ, Staple The Label, Paint It Red, Hunt No More and many others. Flipping through these photos, I've realised that I should have ironed my skirt and not stuffed it in a bag (learn from my mistakes... do as I say, not as I do).

During this hour or so, I met an amazing set of people who made the meeting all the more comfortable for this nervous blogger; PR Coordinator Montana Taffs, social media coordinator Leigh Counsell and the designer of Paint It Red Soren Kearney. You might be familiar with this brand already since I've blogged about their 'Sweet Escape' shorts in THIS post. Upon being shown around this spacious and organically decorated showroom (I have a soft spot for tiny pot plants), I was definitely drawn to the Paint It Red rack. The team talked me through the latest winter collection in which I spied a lot of cobalt and bright paisley prints toughened by leather details on sleeves or peplums. Girls in Australia ... take note, this is what you would (or should) be wearing for the upcoming cooler seasons.

Keep your eyes peeled for more Paint It Red or Quirky Circus posts since I will be doing some future collaborations. Thank you Montana, Leigh and Soren for this amazing opportunity and I can't wait to walk up that patisserie scented staircase again.
