Skye & Staghorn x Lottie Hall

Two designers with their separate aesthetic and vision come together to form the coolest collab in Australian swimwear.

Dakota Gilbert from Skye and Staghorn + Lottie Hall from her eponymous label Lottie HALL. The former hails from Western Australia. She creates athletic yet fashion forward swimwear, in my opinion redefining the meaning of 'sports luxe'. The latter has a knack for funky and unique prints inspired by 'Art, Water, Colour, Surf & Moods.'

This collaboration combines the strengths of both designers - infusing sporty shapes and oceanic prints which result in a killer original collection. Not just your average bikinis, the cuts and details of these pieces are phenomenal. Mesh panelling, neoprene lining, metallic zippers - nothing is overlooked. Ones to look out for are Electric Foam Full Piece and Lumeria Crop.

OUTFIT POST: Lolita

Vladimir Nabokov probably didn't have an outfit in mind for the young Dolores Hayes when he wrote Lolita in 1955. But after reading the novel and watching the 1997 movie adaptation, this is the style that I associate with the playful and dangerously flirtatious Lolita.

It seems to me that Aussie brand Casper&Pearl's summer collection is heavily influenced by the young character's girlie but deadly charm. An array of original pieces that captures Lolita's 'nymphet' qualities. She's innocent at first glance but a habit of provocation lurks underneath. Such is the style of Lolita interpreted by C&P - pastel floral prints and schoolgirl-like collars vs unexpected cut-outs and genius cropping.

My apologies for my long absence. Sometimes holidays get in the way but at least I got to shoot in one of the most awesome places in the world, Hawaii.

OUTFIT POST: Vintage America

Carrying on my sartorial investments from the last outfit post (HERE), I've been obsessing over shirts. Specifically those leaning on the masculine side - cotton or cotton/linen blend - simple button up - and stark blindingly white.

To me, a white collared shirt is one of those versatile and timeless pieces that I would not hesitate to own several. Lets be honest, white stains very easily and as of late I've taken a liking to beetroot. You can imagine how awkward that explanation would be...

Most importantly, white becomes an awesome basis for a daily uniform. I tend to style white shirts with light wash denim and a rustic colour palette of browns, deep reds and forest greens. Thus the vintage American vibe in his look from the tribal details on both the belt and heels.
